The Experience
Chiang Mai, seen the way the river sees it.
As evening settles, you enter the Ping River six kilometres upstream of the old city. The water is calm, the pace unhurried — a short briefing, your gear, and the river is yours.
Then Chiang Mai begins to light up around you. Riverside houses, temples, and bridges rise out of the dusk one by one — the Nawarat Bridge trailing its colours across the water — as you drift toward the centre. It is a view of the city that exists only from the river.
Two hours later, you step ashore in the heart of Chiang Mai, where the riverside restaurants are just coming alive. From there the evening is yours — we arrange your ride back, or a table waiting a few steps from the water.
