Silvatai arranges private experiences in Chiang Mai, Thailand. We are operated by Chiang Mai Travel Media Ltd., Part. (registration 0503550001300), holder of Tourism Business Licence 23/01259 issued by the Department of Tourism, Thailand. All of our experiences take place in and around Chiang Mai.
This page explains what we do with your personal information.
What we collect
When you make an enquiry, our form asks for your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, country, preferred travel dates, number of guests, and anything you choose to write in the message field.
Our server also keeps standard access logs, including your IP address and the pages you viewed, to keep the site running and secure.
We do not take payment details through this website.
Why we use it, and on what basis
We use your information to reply to you, and to plan and run the experience you asked about. Where you have asked us to arrange something, we process your information because it is necessary to provide it. Where you have simply made an enquiry, we do so on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us.
We do not sell your information, and making an enquiry does not add you to a marketing list.
Where your information is held
We are a Thai business and your information is stored in Thailand. Thailand is not covered by a UK or European adequacy decision. If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area and ask us to arrange an experience, sending your details to us is necessary in order to provide what you have asked for. If you would rather not have your information held in Thailand, please do not submit the form — write to us directly instead.
Who else sees it
Only where it is needed: our web host, which stores the site and its enquiry records; Cloudflare, which serves the site and blocks abuse; and the guides or partner operators running your experience, who receive only what they need. Google Fonts serves the typefaces on this site and receives your IP address as part of that request.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept for up to two years. Booking records are kept for seven years, as Thai accounting and tax rules require. Server logs are kept briefly and then overwritten.
Your rights
Under Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act, and under the GDPR if you are in the UK or European Economic Area, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it.
Write to hello@silvatai.com and we will reply within 30 days. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may complain to the Personal Data Protection Committee in Thailand, or to the data protection authority in your own country.
